Infinite Performing Arts Department
Infinite Performance Art is a division that provides support for professional development in drama, music and puppetry. Theatre production assistance involves designing, producing, directing any text in order to produce a final professional product that shows the best of South African skill and talent in performance. Learners in the performance arts are trained in all aspects of theatre according to their field of interest. Our coachers, mentors and teachers are selected from the best South African performers with international records of exposure. Our Linden Infinite Arts School has outstanding national and international achievements in the SA and World Championships.

SOUTH AFRICA REPRESENTED ON THE BUREAU OF ASSITEJ INTERNATIONAL. Assitej South Africa's Chairperson, Yvette Hardie, was elected to the position of Treasurer to the organisation, by the General Assembly at the 16th World Congress of Assitej International in Adelaide, Australia. This is a great opportunity for South Africa and for Africa to have a strong voice in the international community of theatre for young people. The other African candidate elected to the Executive Committee was Hope Azeda (Rwanda) for her second term in office.
ASSITEJ SA
We are a South African platform for people working with or interested in theatre for children and young people, associated as a chapter to Assitej International and a member of ACYTA, the African regional network for Assitej. We aim to promote and foster theatre for children and young people, to raise standards, to increase access and awareness, to lobby where necessary and to build relationships within the sector locally, nationally, across the continent and globally.
ASSITEJ SA has members that include actors, musicians, dancers, directors, choreographers, theatre educators, stage designers and dramatists, as well as theatre companies, organisations and institutions, critics and cultural journalists, culture officers, amateur drama groups, organisers and societies.
ASSITEJ South Africa works to promote international awareness of South African theatre for children and young people, by organising exchanges and guest performances and by facilitating contacts. Members are given access to a global network of information about festivals, performances, courses and seminars all over the world, with the potential to participate in these activities.
ASSITEJ International, established in 1965, is a World Theatre Network of THEATRE for CHILDREN and YOUNG PEOPLE that recognises the right of all children to enrichment through the arts and their own cultural traditions, especially theatre culture. Assitej has chapters in eighty countries, fourteen of which are in Africa.

WORLD THEATRE DAY FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH ASSITEJ SA.
20 March was World Day for Theatre for Children and Young People. ASSITEJ SA along with partner organisation, UNIMA SA (the South African association of puppetry and visual performance) hosted a day of exciting events targeting children and young people of all ages at the Baxter theatre. The 20 March 2009 Western Cape celebration was a part of the IKHWEZI Festival.
